[Update] Added a drop list to select form redirect locations...
To make the process of redirecting a feedback form a bit easier, we added a drop list that you can select from to set the redirect page location... So if you wanted to redirect the visitor to another one of your site pages, or a different site completely, you can just select that destination from the drop list and it will populate the text box with the correct redirect URL format.
This is typically used for squeeze page form redirection, or perhaps when you want to collect contact info before you redirect them to a free report, etc.
[Update] Added ability to group property listings...
I added a new feature to the sites property listings pages so that now you can give your visitors the ability to select from a drop list to view properties that are in any particular category... So if you have added any of your properties to a category in the property details when you added the property to your account, when a visitor visits this page they will see a drop list that will give them the ability to view the properties by a selected category.
This drop list will not be visible on the properties pages if a) none of your properties are in categories, or b) if you have selected to only show a category filter in the site settings for the selected site.
If you have any questions about this, or are having any trouble, submit a support email and we can help you with anything you need.
[Update] Added the ability to apply multiple domains to sites...
There may be a few instances where you want to point multiple domain names to one website, and so I have added the ability for you to do that by entering additional domain names in the new text box located on the site settings page… Now you just enter any additional domain names in this box, and make sure you update your DNS settings with your domain name provider so they all point to “sites.realinvestorwebsite.com”, and then when any visitor uses any of the domain names you enter into that box, it will redirect them to the main custom domain name. NOTE: that you want to be sure you do enter at least one of the domain names in the Domain Name text box… Because when a visitor uses any of the additional domains they will be redirected to your main custom domain name.
Why SEO is not important for Real Estate Investors...
Hey, I have been seeing a lot of new products, emails and articles flying around everywhere talking about how to use the internet to find and flip deals, etc. Its very true, it can be done, but there is one aspect of all this info that I see that, well… I have a small problem with it. And that’s the idea that you can get your site ranked organically (FREE search engine listings) in the top positions in just a few days or weeks. Here is the problem… NO YOU CANT! Well, let me say that YOU CAN if you are optimizing for what is considered a long tail keyword. For example, if you live in Huston, Texas and you optimize your website for the keyword “huston texas discounted properties”, and then did some social network and link building to off-site optimize, then sure… you could get to the top 5 positions pretty quickly. BUT… you will probably only get 3 visitors per month on that keyword. Getting to a top position for a keyword that no one is really searching for is pretty much like putting up a Billboard in the middle of the Mojave Desert!!! The keywords that get all the searches are going to be HIGHLY, HIGHLY competitive… and trust me when I tell you, YOU WILL NOT GET RANKED ON THE FIRST PAGE for those keywords in just a few days, weeks, or even months for that matter. Think about it… every Realtor, Investor, Mortgage Broker, and other Real Estate Professionals are all optimizing their websites for those same keywords. And then if you are lucky you might actually get ranked for ONE of the hundred possible combinations that a searcher can type in your keyword… “discounted properties Houston” “Houston discounted properties” “properties discounted Houston” “discounted properties texas Houston” You get the idea. So… am I saying that you shouldn’t optimize your websites for a keyword? Absolutely NOT, of course you should. What I’m saying is don’t spend all your time trying to get to a top ranking position when you could use PAID advertising like Google Adwords and begin getting HIGHLY TARGETED leads to your website in just a few hours, rather than spend 6 months on a keyword and get 50 visitors a month. I created a video in the trailing library that will show you how to use Google Adwords to geographically target your ads so you are only showing them to people that live near the area that you want to invest in. Take a look at it. In reality, the profit margins on real estate flipping and investing are SO BIG, that you can buy all the traffic you need and never, ever having to worry about Google ranking your site, or slapping you for something. Imagine if you spent a year getting your site to #1… and then Google changes their algorithm and now you are nowhere on the first 10 pages. It happens all the time. Don’t let the “gurus” fool you. PPC, banner ads, and online classifieds like Craigslist are going to be your best, and most effective sources of traffic to your investing sites. Post some comments if you agree, feel differently, or have anything to add.
[Update] - Added 'Province' and 'Postal Code' to the property listings page...
Because there are many people using RealWebsite from Canada and the UK in addition to the US, I have added to the property listing labels for State & Zip so that it now reads “State/Province”, and “Zip/Postal Code”.
[Update] - Added create timestamp to droplists for sites, pages, templates & forms
I recently added a time stamp to all the dropdown lists for selecting sites, pages, templates and feedback forms. This will help you identify which objects are the most recent created when importing templates, and any other site objects. This is especially helpful when exporting an entire website, and then re-importing that site. Now you can easily tell which files are the most recent ones that were created on the import.
New video shows how to create a 2 step landing site to deliver a FREE report...
I just created a new video that will show you how to create a landing page site that you can use to send visitors to and allow them to submit a form to get a free report from you. Basically what you would do is create a site with 2 pages, a landing page, and a redirect page. On the landing page you would have a feedback form and some content that explains the benefits of submitting their contact information to get the free report. Then you redirect them to the next page to download the report as a PDF file. => View the video now (click here)
